How it works
How a website gets built
- Your photos and townsSend photos of your work, the towns you cover and a few lines about each job. Rather not write them? I can, for £150 extra.
- A first version, then changesYou see it on your own phone. One round of changes is included.
- Live and handed overYou get the logins for your domain and software, and a short written guide. Host it yourself, or have TechPhobe look after it.
Hosting and support
Two ways to keep it running
Your domain and your content belong to you either way, so you can move the site whenever you like.
Looked after for you
TechPhobe hosts it
£35 a month
One monthly fee for Hosting and care, so you don't need to think about the technical side. Month to month. You get a full copy of your site to keep and use, and your domain is always yours, whether or not you stay.
- Hosting set up and paid for
- Updates and backups
- Uptime checks, so problems get spotted early
- Your domain and email settings kept working
- Small changes, up to 30 minutes a month
On your own account
You host it
Hosting paid to the company
The site goes live on a hosting account you own and log in to, and TechPhobe hands it over.
- Hosting set up on your account
- Every login handed over at launch
- A short written guide on small updates
- Changes quoted when you ask
Who does what
You supply

TechPhobe supplies
The design, the build and the set-up, tested on a phone. The words too, if you add that on.
Questions
Website questions
Who writes the words?
You send a few lines about each job and I lay them out. If you'd rather not, I write them from a short chat, in the plain words your customers use, for £150 extra.
Can I spread the cost?
Yes. Pay in three: a third to start, a third when you see the first version, and the last third at launch.
Can you host it for me?
Yes. Hosting and care is £35 a month, month to month. It covers hosting, updates, backups, uptime checks, your domain and email settings kept working, and small changes up to 30 minutes a month. You keep a full copy of your site whether or not you stay. Or I set it up on your own hosting account and hand everything over.
Will it get me to the top of Google?
Nobody can sell you a place on Google. I set up the things Google and your customers look for, and show you where to see the calls and quote requests that come in.
Can I connect it to job software later?
Yes. Start with the Starter website and connect it when you're ready. I'll check your software first.
How long does it take?
Most websites are live within 10 working days of me having your photos. You get a date with the fixed price. The biggest thing that sets it is how soon your photos and details are ready.
Do I need a website if I'm on Checkatrade?
Not to get started, but it's worth having. Leads and reviews on a listing site stay on that site for as long as you keep paying. A website on your own domain is yours, and customers who find you there contact you directly with no lead fee.
What if I don't like how it looks?
You see the first version before anything goes live, and one round of changes is included. Anything beyond that gets a fixed price before I start on it.

Tell me about the website you need
Your trade, the towns you cover and whether you have a website already. I'll reply with any questions, then a fixed price before any work starts.
